I was given a used monitor that is only 3 years old. I don't know if this makes any difference or not. this is the first time I've ever used an HDMI connection between a monitor and a PC. My monitor is plugged into my computer through an HDMI cable. I'm wanting to see if I can turn off the color altogether on my monitor so that it only displays everything on screen in gray scale (black and white), is there a way to do that through Windows 10 as my monitor doesn't seem to have a setting to allow this to be done (the old CRT monitors allowed this to be done through their controls). So I'm totally overwhelmed by the complexity of this new operating system. Open the Photo App, select the image from list to print, and uncheck the “LET THE APP CHANGE MY PRINTING PREFERENCES” in the dialog box.I just started using Windows 10 for the first time. * Doing that within the photo app with any changes doesn’t take effects, while you could try another way.

* To get color pictures, you could open the File Explorer, navigate to the photo, right click on it and choose Print option to do that. But the Internet Explorer app get color printing well. So you could not re-configure that from its setting.

If you are using a network shared printer, the default buttons should be greyed out for some reason. Locate your printer name and click Manage option and click the “Set as Default” button. * On its right side pane, un-check “Let windows manage my default printer” box. * Select the Devices category, and go to Printers & scanners in the left tab. * From your desktop, click or tap on the Windows button at the left-bottom corner, and open the Settings app from Start menu.
